EXTRA
TIME DRAMA SEES LYMM THROUGH
An
enthralling game of rugby league watched by a sizable crowd at Crouchley
Lane saw Lymm progress to the North West Premier Grand Final with a
nail-bighting extra time victory over a plucky Wigan Riversiders side.
With both sides locked at 14 points each and with moments remaining,
Lymm believed they had done enough to win the game in regular time when
Pete Leonard banged over a field goal. However a Wigan player touched
the ball in the flight and although it went over the sticks, the referee
ruled the effort out. •

LYMM
END REGULAR SEASON WITH A WIN AT THE SEASIDE
Lymm
enjoyed a successful trip to the seaside in their final regular game
of the season. Despite travelling with a patched up team, Lymm were
still too strong for the plucky Sea Eagles and handed debuts to their
coaching duo in the shape of former dual code international and St Helens
flyer Anthony Sullivan and Ged Sonerson in order to make up the squad.

BLACKPOOL
UP NEXT, SEMI-FINAL CONFIRMED
Lymm
RL will finish their regular season campaign on Saturday with a trip
to the seaside to face Blackpool. The club will be hoping for a strong
performance ahead of the play-off semi-final when it has been confirmed
that Lymm will face Wigan on Friday August 7th at Crouchley Lane with
a 7:30pm kick-off. The winners of this tie will then face the victors
of the Widnes and New Broughton game in the North West Grand Final,
the week after. For Saturday's trip to Blackpool the club has laid a
coach on, with players asked to meet at Crouchley Lane for 11-45am.
The coach will return on the night at 10-30pm.
LYMM
TAKE MINOR PREMIERSHIP
Lymm
RL were crowned Minor Premiership winners with a game to spare in the
North West Premier Division after a nail-bighting one point victory
over near neighbours Widnes Saints, who had led the League standings
on points difference going into the contest. With many permutations
possible for who would finish top in the regular season, Lymm were clear
on one thing, a victory would see them head back to the top and claim
the title even before playing the final league game at Blackpool. •

THE
BIG ONE
The two
front running teams in this season's North West Premier Division go
head to head on Saturday at Crouchley Lane. Since the inception of the
competition the Saints have been the leading side in the North West
and Saturday's match promises to be a mouth watering contest. The Widnes
team is likely to be at full strength after St Maries completed their
fixtures in the National Conference Summer Pilot League. The game was
originally scheduled to take place in Widnes but has been reversed to
Lymm, as Widnes failed to send a team for the first fixture back in
June. The game kicks-off at 2:30pm. Lymm will be hoping to build on
their committed display against Crosfields as they go in search of an
inaugural Minor Premiership in only their second ever season.
WEEKEND
ROUND-UP
A 12-32
away day win for Widnes at New Broughton sent the Saints to the top
of the table whilst elsewhere Wigan moved upto fourth and a play-off
spot with a 32-12 win over Runcorn.
Lymm are still well placed for a Minor Premiership, with Widnes now
left with just one game to play against Lymm next weekend. Lymm meanwhile
have a game in hand with a a trip to Blackpool on August 1st.
RFL
REVEAL PLAY-OFF PLANS
The
Rugby Football League have revealed their plans for the final stages
of this year's Rugby League Conference. Lymm have two league games left
on July 25 (Widnes) and August 1 (Blackpool). The top four teams will
then play-off in the North West. Lymm will be involved in a play-off
semi-final on the weekend of August 7/8/9 and should they succeed, they
will then take their place in the North West Final on August 15. Once
the regional winners have been confirmed from each of the divisions
the national play-off competition will begin. Quarter-final ties are
on August 22, semi-final ties are on September 6 and the Grand Final
is to be held at Derby RFC on September 13.
LYMM
PUSH SOAP
Summer
met winter at Hood Lane as Lymm RL took the opportunity to travel to
Crosfields for a much anticipated friendly match. With Lymm struggling
to find games in recent weeks, Crosfields from the Fraser Eagle National
Conference League were seen as the ideal opponents as Lymm embark on
their assault on the Minor Premiership in the Co-Operative Rugby League
Conference North West and the end of season play-off series. •

WEEKEND
ROUND-UP
A nail
bighting 25-24 win for New Broughton over Wigan saw the Salford based
team keep up the pressure at the top of the table, whilst Runcorn returned
to action with a 46-14 win over Blackpool to go fourth.
SEASON
ENTERS FINAL STAGES
As the
end of the normal season approaches, Lymm have just two regular games
left against Widnes Saints on July 25 and away at Blackpool on August
1 before the play-off series begins. The Saints game is likely to be
played at Crouchley Lane. Unfortunately Rhyl have been unable to raise
a team this weekend and the club has taken the opportunity to arrange
a friendly with near neighbours and National Conference side Crosfields
on Wednesday night (July 15). Next training is on Monday July 13th.
WEEKEND
ROUND-UP
Wigan's
58-10 romp over Widnes Saints and an as expected 12-30 win for New Broughton
at Blackpool shook up the Rugby League Conference North West Division
yet further over the weekend. With another great day planned at Crouchley
Lane, Lymm were mightily disappointed that their opponents Runcorn were
unable to raise a team. Lymm now sit top of the table, two points clear
of Widnes whilst both sides have exactly the same points difference
with New Broughton leading the chasing pack.
POINTS
SECURED AGAINST WIGAN
A hat-trick
of tries from wingman Dane Evans helped Lymm RL to go joint top of the
Rugby League Conference North West Premier Division with a 26-16 victory
over neighbours Wigan Riversiders. Lymm had gone into the game looking
to avenge their opening day defeat against the Riversiders and although
they put in an inconsistent performance they still came good in the
end to secure the two league points against their spirited opponents.

NEW
BROUGHTON SENT PACKING
A second-half
fight back saw Lymm RL move into second place in the Rugby League Conference
North West Premier Division with a fine 16-24 away day victory at the
high flying New Broughton Rangers. With many players away on holiday,
Lymm's team was much changed from the one that had defeated Blackpool,
a week earlier, with Craig Millington and Frankie Bird both making their
debuts for the club.

BLACKPOOL
DEFEATED
After
two weeks of frustration without a game due to opponents failing to
raise a team, Lymm returned to action in emphatic style with a 48-12
victory over Blackpool. Debutant Jake Ashall led by example with a hat-trick
of tries on an afternoon when Lymm could well have scored even more
points. Dane Evans, Matt Mahoney, Mark Robinson, Paul Flannery and Pete
Cannon also scored for four-pointers ahead of Lymm's trip to face
New Broughton next time, with the club knowing that an away day victory,
will send them into second place in the table as the competition enters
its second-half and begins to hot up.

GOOD
WIN AT RUNCORN
An
excellent away day performance from Lymm RL allowed the Crouchley Lane
outfit to pick up their first win of the campaign in the Rugby League
Conference North West Premier Division. Lymm played up the hill in the
first half but it didn't seem to phase them as they went onto register
a 10-26 victory. • Full

MUCH
IMPROVEMENT ON SHOW
A
much improved performance from Lymm, saw them make a very creditable
first home appearance of the season against last years North West Grand
Finalists New Broughton before eventually going down 18-26. In a much
changed team to the one that had travelled to Wigan, two weeks earlier,
five players made their debuts for the club including Sean Hughes, Zak
Lythgoe, James Dudley, Oliver Higginson and Mike Cadd. •

LYMM
DOWNED AT WIGAN
Lymm
began life in the newly named North West Premier Division with a poor
opening performance at new boys Wigan Riversiders. Tries from Peter
Cannon, Craig Woolvine and Neil Evans couldn't help Lymm who eventually
went down 56-12. The club will have to wait a fortnight due to the Magic
Weekend for an opportunity to get things right when New Broughton visit
Crouchley Lane on May 9. Training continues at 6-30pm on Wednesday with
all squad members reminded to bring any outstanding fees that are payable.
