LYMM RL 48 BLACKPOOL SEA EAGLES 12
Lymm enjoyed a comprehensive home victory over Blackpool in the summer
sunshine at Crouchley Lane to consolidate third position in the North
West Division.
The home
side took just two minutes to cross as Dane Evans, on debut, went over
and Pete Leonard goaled. Two further tries in three minutes then followed
as Matt Mahoney and Ryan Mullins crossed and with Leonard on target
with the boot, Lymm had raced out to an 18-0 advantage after just 13
minutes of play.
In a solid
first-half display Jake Ashall also crossed on debut for his first try
of the afternoon and with Mark Robinson going over moments later for
another try goaled by Leonard, Lymm led 28-0 at the break.
The second
half was at best a little scratchy for Lymm who moved away from the
game plan. However with Ashall completing a hat-trick and further tries
from Paul Flannery and Pete Cannon, Lymm had rattled up 48 unanswered
points. Lymm played 25 minutes of the half with 12 men after full-back
Carl Lloyd was dismissed for his altercation with Blackpool prop Mark
Holden who was also sin-binned. His fellow prop Lloyd Garrad was also
binned later in the half for verbal abuse.
Blackpool
registered their first try six minutes from time through Paul Ogden
which Thomas Rowley goaled, closely followed by a try from prop Holden
goaled by Tony Green to give the Sea Eagles something to cheer.
